Is it sweet like an air-freshener tree?
No, and that's the whole point of the formulation. Cheap vanilla fresheners lean sugary because sugary is inexpensive to produce. This sits warmer and drier — closer to vanilla in a candle you'd actually keep in the house than vanilla in a gas station.

Where should I spray it?
Onto the carpet or floor mats, or lightly into the airflow near the A/C recirculation intake with the fan running. Not onto seats, the headliner or the screen. Fabric holds fragrance far longer than hard surfaces.

How long does the scent last?
Days rather than weeks, depending on how much you apply, how often you run the climate system, and how hot the car gets. A cabin parked in California sun cycles air constantly and will fade faster than a garaged car.

Will it cover a smell I haven't cleaned up?
Not properly, and we'd rather say so. It contains odor-neutralizing components, but nothing sprayed into the air removes a source. Clean the source first — otherwise you have two smells instead of one.
